Lots of children’s toys and games, including Bombardo, were made at The Lord Roberts Memorial Workshops, by soldiers, sailors and airmen who had been injured in World War 1.
In Bombardo the coloured balls were placed in the metal hoops, and were knocked off by a swinging bomb and a spinning top. The player who had the most balls surviving at the end was the winner!
