This is a fossilised fish called Pachyrhizodus salmoneus. It lived millions of years ago.
It would have looked a bit like a salmon, which is reflected in its Latin name
Look closely to spot a large eye socket, a mouth containing hundreds of small sharp teeth, a pectoral fin (just behind the eye) and lots of fossil scales.
It’s the front of a fossil fish that swam in the prehistoric seas where Folkestone is today.
