Rocks and Fossils activity 3: Animate a Folkestone Dinosaur
Overview
The class learn about dinosaurs (or other prehistoric creatures) that lived in the Folkestone area, then create a simple animation of inspired by them.

Children develop short 5-10 second animations in small groups or as individuals, using free animation software, inspired by prehistoric animals on the Learning with Objects website.

- An ammonite getting bitten, then escaping from a shark
- The Acanthopholis dinosaur leaving its footprints on Folkestone beach
- A giant prehistoric shark snapping up fish
- A dinosaur pooing a coprolite
- A mammoth being attacked by Mesolithic hunters
- An ichthyosaur swimming through the water
- A fossil turning into a prehistoric creature… and back again
- A fossil hunter chipping a rock to reveal a fossil
- A fossil coming alive in a museum showcase and scaring visitors
