Rocks and Fossils activity 5: Prehistoric Monsters Puppet Show

Overview

Working in small groups, the children create puppets of dinosaurs or other prehistoric animals whose fossils have been found at Folkestone before acting out a short show.

Increased knowledge and understanding of ammonites, prehistoric sharks and their habitats. How to design a mobile.

Puppets could be made from paper bags, old socks, or as shadow or stick puppets. Pupils create a backdrop, storyboard the show and create dialogue before rehearsing and acting out a short scene... perhaps including a dramatic moment where one of the animals is attacked or eaten by a predator.
